I really like this new breed of websites that serve a single purpose very well (Senduit, Feedmyinbox). It’s really a sign of the future as structures break down and focus more on the connections between them. What’s also great is that these sites are so focussed and it makes targeted advertising much easier.

Down for everyone or just me? is one of the simplest of these sites – you give it a domain name and it will tell you whether the site is down for everyone or just you :)

Often the person checking out the status of the site will be the actual website owner, who is pulling their hair out wondering why their site is unavailable. When I was recently (unfortunately!) using the site I saw that they are driving leads to a webhosting company. Amazing targeting! I’d love to see their conversion rates on that one. Where could you be picking up such well targeted leads?
