Open data enables amazing things for everyone – that is what drives Govhack and Mashup Australia.
GovHack is a free, intensive day and a half exploring ways of creating mashups and applications with government data and services, and most importantly building some new mashup applications.
Deloitte Digital is hosting a pre-briefing session for GovhackMelb to start exploring where this is all going, what is already happening, and to start organising some teams and ideas for the day.
The pre-brief session will run this Thursday (29th October) from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, at Level 10 / 550 Bourke St Melbourne. There will be pizza and drinks provided.
The agenda will be:
- Introduction to Gov Hack by Pete Williams
- Multimedia Victoria/Vic Gov Priorities, by Randall Straw and Amanda Finnis
- What data is open – Info Vic
- Examples – Builditback, Ushahidi, Everyblock, Pete Williams, Ross Hill, Hafeez Bana
- Building teams and ideas – Jeremy Yuille
This open discussion will lead us into GovhackMelb which will run as a stream of the Lonely Planet Hack Day on the 7th and 8th of November.
