Get a Gravatar for your comments across the web

You might have noticed that some blog comments have little pictures next to the authors name and others get a boring gray blob. Those photos are called Gravatars or Globally Recognisable Avatars

The Gravatar service is operated by the same guys that run Wordpress.com and it is really simple to use. You just go to the signup page then enter your email address and upload an image. Now when you comment on a blog that has Gravatars enabled everyone will be able to see your smiling face.

Go signup, then comment below to make sure it works :)

  • Man! I so need to go and signup and have been meaning to for quite some time...thanks for the reminder. :-)
  • Thanks for the info. I had a look at the site and nearly signed up, and then I thought, hey, the Net is all about anonymity. I think I'm showing my age here - Baby Boomer and too old to put my pic on the Net. Maybe showing my age by calling it the Net, on second thoughts.
  • Thanks for the heads up... let's see if it works!

  • Hi Ross,

After spending a very frustrating hour or so over at gravatar, I gave up. Every image, no matter how I sized it, was too large.

  • This is mine :)
